*Important notes about fieldtrip modules during 2021/22 for Stage 3 students*:

Geography fieldtrip modules did not run during 2020/21 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions.  The fieldtrips will therefore be offered to Stage 3 students during 2021/22 (with the existing Stage 2 module codes).  The fieldtrip modules are Semester 2 modules which involve an overseas field trip during the Easter vacation (March/April 2022).   As in previous years, the fieldtrips are only available to Combined Honours students who study Geography in a Major (80 credits) or a Joint (60 credits) weighting, These modules are not available to Combined Honours students who study Geography in a Minor (40 credits) weighting.  Please note that places on all overseas fieldtrip modules are capped at 35 for Human Geography fieldtrips, and at 50 for the Physical fieldtrip module.

Human Geography fieldtrip modules (each capped at 35):

*All Human Geography fieldtrips have GEO2043 as a pre-requisite*

Students who wish to take a Human Geography fieldtrip module in 2021/22:

a)       need to have studied GEO2043 during Stage 2,

b)       need to indicate their preference of fieldtrip location using a web form which will be circulated to all current Stage 2 and Intercalating students who study Geography.   Students are to pick their top three choices, making sure they have taken the necessary pre-requisite modules (listed below).  Allocation is random so there is no advantage to either early or late sign-up, as long as you do it by the deadline.  You can list a friend who you want to be paired with on the trip (Geography will do their best to put you on the same trip but limits on numbers mean they cannot guarantee this), and then

c)       need to use the ‘dummy’ code of GEO2222 during module pre-registration via S3P (between 18th and 26th May 2021).
