Newcastle Academic wins Best Paper Award for Second Year

The IEEE Systems Journal has selected Dr Rajiv Ranjan's paper for its 2019 Best Paper Award.

The IEEE Systems Journal Best Paper Award is presented annually to the papers deemed the best amount those published in the IEEE Systems Journal the previous year.

On the Communication Variability Analysis of the NeCTAR Research Cloud System was selected as one of the two recipients of this award.

The paper introduces a novel cloud datecentre network performance evaluation methodology. The whole methodology and details reported in this paper can be viewed as a reusable template for systematically evaluating the network features of a private and public cloud computing datacentre. The proposed methodology is validated by evaluating the Australian Government eResearch Cloud, the NeCTAR Cloud datacentres.

This is the second year in a row that a paper co-written by Dr Ranjan has won this award. His paper "Game-Theoretic Market-Driven Smart Home Scheduling Considering Energy Balancing" won in 2018.
