Dr Ricardo Melo Czekster

Research Associate

Background

Dr Czekster is currently working on the Active Building Centre (ABC) project at Newcastle University.

He received his PhD, M.Sc. and B.Sc. Computing Science from PUCRS University at Porto Alegre/Brazil (in 2010, 2006 and 2002 respectively) with doctoral sandwich in the Laboratoire d’Informatique de Grenoble (LIG) at Grenoble/France in 2007 and in the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science (LFCS) at Edinburgh/Scotland in 2008.

 

His research interests are Dependability, Security and Performance of smart infrastructures.

 

Ricardo was visiting researcher at Siemens Corporate Research (SCR) at Princeton/USA during 2010 as well as visiting scholar at St Andrews University/Scotland and Maynooth University/Ireland (in multiple occasions).

 

Area of expertise: Modelling & Simulation (M&S), structured Markov Chains
