Staff Profile
Ioannis is currently working as a Research Associate for the ERC Confidentiality-Preserving Security Assurance (CASCAde) research project at the school of Computing at Newcastle University.
Prior to that he was a Research Associate for the EU Horizon PrismaCloud research project at Newcastle University.
Ioannis holds both a MSc Advanced Computer Science (Distinction) and a PhD in Computer Science from Newcastle University.
My research interests span the areas of cloud security, remote attestation, trusted execution and smart contracts. In cloud security I particularly focus on access control systems for virtualized infrastructures that employ lightweight virtual machines. In remote attestation, I focus on creating attestation schemes that preserve confidentiality and configuration privacy of attested systems that mainly use zero-knowledge protocols and are bound to hardware devices. My research in smart contracts has contributed software tools for monitoring and enforcing smart contract rules and design approaches for creating different smart contract architectures for integrating on and off blockchain smart contracts.
