Student Orators

Student Orators

Student Orator is the name given to the graduate who makes the closing speech at their graduation ceremony.

July 2019

We appoint one Student Orator for each Congregation ceremony. The orator speaks at their ceremony on behalf of their cohort of students.

If you are chosen as Student Orator, you'll provide an invaluable contribution to the day. You'll help to make it unique and memorable for everyone there. It will be an unforgettable experience for you - and one which will enhance your CV.

Student Orators are awarded a certificate in recognition of their contribution, and a studio photography package with our official photographers free of charge.

We welcome applications from all students attending the July 2019 Congregations. Academic performance is not taken into account.

The deadline for applications is Friday 31 May.

If your application is successful you will be invited to attend an audition in person, where you will be asked to read a short version of your speech.

Auditions will be held in the King's Gate Building on 7, 12, 13 and 14 June. If you are no longer in Newcastle you can also choose to audition via Skype.
