Directions to the RVI

Travel by car and parking

There is limited, metered, on-street car parking near the RVI and a car park in Percy Street.

If you are using the Claremont Road multi-storey car park in Queen Victoria Road, access to the Leazes Wing is possible via the New Victoria Wing entrance. Follow the signs to the Leazes Wing, then to Level 6.

Public transport

The nearest Metro stop and bus interchange is Haymarket.

On exiting the Metro or Haymarket Interchange, cross Percy Street and turn right. Take the first turning left into St Thomas’ Street. At the end of the street cross Queen Victoria Road, turn left and then first right into Richardson Road. Walk up Richardson Road until you come to the entrance to the Leazes Wing. Go to Level 6 and follow the signs to the Clinical Research Facility.

Alternatively, enter the RVI from Queen Victoria Road and follow the signs to Level 6 of Leazes Wing.

Taxis

If you are travelling to us by taxi, ask for the main entrance to the Leazes Wing of the Royal Victoria Infirmary situated in Richardson Road. Go to Level 6 and follow the signs to the Clinical Research Facility.

Access via the Medical School

University staff can access the Leazes Wing from the Medical School. A staff swipe card is needed.

Enter the RVI from the 4th floor of the William Leech Building (next to the Institute of Cellular Medicine General Offices). On reaching the open area with seating, turn right and follow the signs to the Clinical Research Facility. We are behind the double wooden doors at the end of the corridor.
