Remembering Connor King

Earlier this year, we were deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and peer, Connor King. A stage 3 Dentistry student, Connor will always be remembered at Newcastle Dental School for his bright personality and smile that could light up a room. He was a very enthusiastic young man, with a kind heart and passion for helping those less fortunate than himself.

Connor King Foundation

To carry on Connor’s values, his family have set up the Connor King Foundation in his memory. The foundation aims to set up a hardship scheme for students from underprivileged backgrounds who are interested in pursuing their careers in dentistry, providing financial support to help with tuition fees.

The foundation also aspires to help provide life-changing dental treatment to those who may not be able to afford such treatments on the NHS.

Fundraising for the charity

Connor was also a keen and talented swimmer, and the foundation hopes one day to expand their resources to help other young swimmers from less privileged backgrounds reach their full potential.

The charity can be found on Facebook, and also on their website at www.connorkingfoundation.co.uk.  The Connor King Foundation would appreciate any donations, big or small, to help them with their mission.

This year one of our students, Ross Lyttle, will be participating in the Great North Run half marathon to raise money for this wonderful charity. Donations can be made via the JustGiving link below.

On behalf of both Ross and the Foundation, thank you!
