Choosing Newcastle

I got such a good vibe as soon as I arrived in Newcastle and I knew straight away that I wanted to come here. The city is great for shopping and nightlife as well as the University being of a high standard.

My course has been challenging but definitely worthwhile. I’ve made a great set of friends on the course. The course balances lectures and practicals well, which made it more exciting.

I was surprised at how all the years integrated so well. The upper years are so willing to help out with any problems.

The lecture theatres are state-of-the-art making lectures more comfortable and enjoyable. The Fell cluster allows for 24-hour computer access, which is also a great facility.

Field trips

Each year Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle meet up for a day of socialising and sport. Then there's a bar crawl in the city its held in, which is always a good night.

The city and accommodation

I'd describe Newcastle as fun, young and diverse.

I stayed at St Mary’s College, which was great. It was smaller so you got to know people well even though it is off campus. You have to not mind the walk every morning.

I also lived in West Jesmond with my house located next to Tesco, Gregg’s and Starbucks. It’s well placed and has a great student vibe to the area.

Spare time

I spend my spare time training for athletics, at the gym or relaxing with friends.

The best thing about being at University is all the friends that I have made up here and the city nightlife.
