Dr Elena Gorman

Turing Liaison & Digital Institute Mgr

Background

In September 2018 Elena joined Newcastle University as the Turing Liaison and Digital Institute Manager. 

After completing her doctorate in Theology at Durham University in 2009, Elena worked in a number of professional support roles at Durham in areas including quality assurance, recruitment and admissions, and postgraduate training. From 2013-17 Elena worked as the administrative lead to establish and manage a new, national collaborative partnership between Durham University, the Church of England, and 18 theological colleges: ‘The Common Awards Scheme’.

In 2017 Elena joined Northumbria University as the Project Manager for Northumbria’s activity on ‘Creative Fuse North East’: an ERDF- and AHRC-funded collaborative research project in which all five universities in the North East of England are supporting innovation and growth in the region’s creative, digital and IT sector.

Elena has taught Theology at Durham University and St Patrick’s College in Maynooth. She has worked as an Auditor for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
