Introduction
I am a lecturer and Speech and Language Therapist, with experience of working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders and of working in partnership with relatives, carers and other professionals.
Background
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist from Newcastle University in 2001. I worked for an NHS Hospital Trust for six years, working with clients with a range of acquired communication and swallowing disorders within inpatient and community settings.
In 2005, alongside my NHS role, I worked for a day a week for The North East Trust for Aphasia (NETA), as NETA Support Centre Co-ordinator.
I joined the Speech and Language Sciences section at Newcastle University in September 2007.

Director of Clinical Education for the BSc and MSc pre-registration speech and language therapy programmes. The role involves organising speech and language therapy clinical placements for students in partnership with organisations (NHS and non-NHS) in the North-East of England, clinical teaching and training and support for practice educators.
