Work Experience:
Head of Academic Planning - Cleveland College of Art and Design

overall responsibility for the planning and implementation of the College’s teaching and learning and business support activities across both FE and HE campuses, including staff utilization, resources (including capital spend) and redevelopment and refurbishment of teaching accommodation. I was an OFSTED nominee and member of Extended Principalship. I provided leadership on initiatives around student experience and effective utilization of staff and resources.I was a senior manager, budget holder and reported to college Principal, Chief Executive and Governors

Local Growth Fund Project Manager - Cleveland College of Art and Design

Project Manager for the liaison with internal and external stakeholders in establishing the scope for a new campus development, including new build and repurposing of existing buildings. I led teams in designing purpose built spaces, such as CAD/CAM, TV and film studios, photography, textiles studios and workshops. I worked closely with Design Team on developing specifications for fit out prior to tender, the tender process, planned fit-out, and decant. I was client representative of Design Team and Build Team, for the life of the project. I reported to Local Growth Fund Project Board, Governors and Principal

Head of School of Visual Arts - Cleveland College of Art and Design

I led the strategic direction and operations of the College’s HE provision within the School of Visual Arts. I line-managed both Academic and Professional Support Staff. I was responsible for student experience and delivering a stimulating environment for academic study. I was responsible for welfare of students and quality of teaching, learning and assessment within my school. I was responsible for business operations within the school and had overall responsibility for the Quality Assurance of the provision, including Annual Programme Review. I was a senior manager (member of Principalship), budget holder and reported to college Principal, Chief Executive and Governors.

Curriculum Manager - Derwentside College

Curriculum Manager for Professional and Business Services. Curriculum areas included Business, Admin and Law, Retail and Commercial Enterprise, Sports and Leisure and IT. This role mainly focused on FE funded provision and involved a high proportion of work-based learning, such as Apprenticeships, Higher Apprenticeships and NVQs. I had responsibility for line management of teaching and assessing staff. I developed curriculum for levels 1-3 Learner and Employer Responsive and monitored course performance. This also involved managing quality visits in e.g. external moderation and verification. I was also lead internal moderator/verifier for all respective programs.

Curriculum  Manager - Newcastle College

Responsible for the design and delivery of FE and HE provision; which included the business planning process, curriculum design/planning and staffing, predicted income and required resources and control of the key performance indicators that define the cost/value of the section, through major changes in curriculum, funding and school structure.  Part of the school’s SMT and the groups WMT.Line management of teaching staff. Developing curriculum for levels 1-6.

Day to day operational responsibility for section. Monitoring and review of performance. Supporting staff in delivery of qualifications. Manage quality visits in FE e.g. external moderation and verification. Lead internal moderator/verifier for FE programs.

Lead teacher of textiles at KS3/4 and post 16. Responsible for VLE and development of KS3/4 material.
