About Eleanor
Nationality: British
Year graduated: 2019
Now: Faculty of Medical Sciences Learning Enhancement and Technology Projects Adviser, Newcastle University
I chose Newcastle for my PGCE in 2010 as the programme had a good reputation and I wanted to stay close to home.
After completing my NQT year I decided to leave secondary teaching and moved into education support at Newcastle. Alongside this full-time job, I completed the PGCert in Educational Research and Innovation in 2016, attending the twilight classes and completing work on the weekends.
I undertook my dissertation part-time as well, completing this in 2019 to finish my MEd. The support and challenge from the staff in Education, Communication and Language Sciences allowed me to build my skills and my confidence in the areas of education and research. My QTS alongside my MEd was my passport to China where I taught English at Xiamen University for a year.
I am now working in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle, on the Technology Enhanced Learning team.
