Recruitment and Placement Event

Our Graduate Recruitment and Placement Event will take place between 18-28 October 2021. It will be aimed at organisations looking to recruit penultimate and final year students for opportunities starting in Summer and Autumn 2022 (2024 for Law).

Date: 19-27 Oct 2021

Location: Online

Our flagship Autumn recruitment event will be a two-week series of online employer panel discussions. Each day will focus on a particular sector, as follows:

  • Tue 19 Oct - Law *FILLED*
  • Wed 20 Oct – Science & Technology *FILLED*
  • Thu 21 Oct – Business & Finance *FILLED*
  • Mon 25 Oct - Media, Marketing & PR *FILLED*
  • Tue 26 Oct - Public and Non-profit *FILLED*
  • Wed 27 Oct – Engineering *FILLED*

The event will take place virtually via Zoom and there will be several panel events each day, both in the morning and afternoon.

This is a recruitment-focussed event and so organisations are required to have live/imminent graduate, placement or internship opportunities at the time of the event, for 2022 start dates (2024 for Law). All opportunities need to meet our Duty of Care policy.

This event will be free for organisations to attend, so do get booked early to avoid disappointment (details below). We will be operating a waiting list in case slots are filled.

The Panels

We will host several panel events each day which will include a short introduction from each speaker, some pre-prepared questions from students and the host, and then a Q&A from attendees.

Sessions will be live and they will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel as feedback from students has shown that many have a preference for on-demand content. Further, it makes them accessible to those with different learning preferences and so reach a wider audience.

If you have any queries about the event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at employers@ncl.ac.uk.

Employer Connect

Employer Connect Series

Throughout the academic year, we offer employers the opportunity to book a 60-minute slot for our Employer Connect series. The slots will be Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1pm and 5pm.

We want this to be flexible for you but you could host a session on:

  • Effective CV writing.
  • Presentation about your organisation.
  • Assessment Centres.
  • Interview coaching.
  • Diversity and Inclusion in your organisation.

If you would like to discuss availability and what kind of session would be most relevant to your recruitment needs, please email Maya at employers@newcastle.ac.uk.
