Ending waste: How to make the transition to a circular economy

Date/Time: 27 June 2019 18:30

Venue: Urban Sciences Building, 1 Science Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 5TG

Waste is everywhere. Whether its source is food, energy, water or materials like plastic, we all experience waste at multiple scales. A circular economy provides new opportunities and solutions to the world’s waste problems. It reduces our ecological footprint, prevents valuable resources from going to landfill and plays a major role in feeding a growing world population. Join us in exploring how we can transform waste management, food security and packaging, and learn about how a circular economy can convert wastes to resources.

This is a Cafe Scientifique style event focusing on discussion and contributions from participants. All are welcome. There will be opportunities to engage and network with small to medium enterprises, public and voluntary sectors, academic researchers and citizens.
