Marine Resources & Renewable Energy
Marine Resources and Renewable Energy
About
Our group unites a broad range of marine disciplines to harness ocean resources to meet global food and energy needs.
Terrestrial resources for energy, food and water are under pressure from expanding global population demands. The ocean is increasingly seen as a supplementary resource to meet these needs.
Security of food, energy and other finite resources are driving efforts to exploit the ocean resources in a sustainable way, through international and national legislation such as the commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
