Research Associate

  • Ph.D. Power Systems, Newcastle University, UK, 2018.
  • Dipl.-Ing. Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece, 2013.

Current projects:

I am a member of the Power Systems Research group and currently work on two projects covering various aspects of power systems:

  • A Pragmatic Approach to Evaluating the Security Contribution of Smart Network Interventions (Northern Powergrid and Imperial College London) – This project will develop tools and methods which enable planning engineers to routinely make informed decisions about providing security of supply through a combination of network and non-network assets, including distributed generation, demand side response, storage and the application of transfer capacity.
  • Enhanced Understanding of Network Losses (Northern Powergrid) Developing an enhanced model of network losses as part of Northern Powergrid’s Losses Discretionary Reward activities.

Past projects:

  • Siemens RCAM Dynamic – Analyzing and suggesting potential improvements for Siemens RCAM Dynamic Power System Asset Management Tool; incorporating the output of this tool into power system optimization.

Research Interests:

  • Distribution Network Operation and Planning
  • Power System Optimization
  • Reliability Evaluation of Power Systems
