Staff Profile

Dr Jean-Marie Fontmorin

Research Associate

Background

Jean-Marie received his PhD at the University of Rennes 1 (France) in 2013 after studying a combined electrochemical/biological process for the degradation of persistent organic pollutants. He then joined Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland) for a 2-year postdoc focusing on the treatment of digested sludge (conditioning and removal of metals) using biological, chemical and electrochemical processes. He joined Newcastle University in June 2016 as a research associate to work on the LifesCO2R project led by Dr. Eileen Yu, and especially to study the optimization of electricity generation from waste using BES and the conversion of CO2 into liquid fuels.
