Yahya Naderi Zarnaghi

KTP Associate - Power System Integration Egineer

Background

Dr. Yahya Naderi (S'13) received the B.S. and M.Sc. degrees both in power engineering from the University of Tabriz, Tabriz, Iran, in 2011 and 2013, respectively. While pursuing for the master’s degree, he was working as a part-time electrical engineer for designing electrical facilities of building in Sima Shahr Novin consulting engineers Co.

He was a Ph.D. Fellow under supervision of Prof. Seyed Hossein Hosseini and Associate Prof. Saeid Ghassem Zadeh from 2013 to 2018 at faculty of electrical and computer engineering, University of Tabriz, Iran.

Meanwhile, he was with Microgrid group, Department of Energy Technology at Aalborg University, Denmark as a visiting Ph.D. researcher and cooperating with Prof. Josep Guerrero, Prof. Juan C Vasquez and Associate Prof. Mehdi Savaghebi from December 2016 to July 2017.

He has been a research assistant with Microgrid group of Aalborg University, doing research on power quality issues of microgrids focusing on control methods of converters, also he was involved with Vicinity 2020 project as a test platform developer for IoT and smart homes from August 2017 to February 2018.

Before getting his Ph.D. he founded and ran his own company, "Tavan Aramis Ararat ",  for almost 4 years which was in the field of UPS, stabilizers, batteries and other power electronic based devices.

He is now a KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) Associate at Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom leading a project in collaboration with Flexi-Solar Ltd with the foundation from Innovate UK. He is the author and co-author of more than 15 journal and conference papers and book chapters.
