Chemical Engineering: BEng (Hons)

Newcastle was the only choice offered by my sponsoring company for the international foundation course. After the foundation year, I decided to stay because of the good reputation of my course at Newcastle University.

Choosing Newcastle

Newcastle was the only choice offered by my sponsoring company for the international foundation course which started in January.

However, after the foundation year, I was given a choice. I decided to stay at Newcastle because I liked how the city is compact and has everything I need, and because of the good reputation of my course at Newcastle University.

Living in Newcastle

Newcastle is a great city; it has one of the driest climates in the UK, and it has a compact city centre where everything is in walking distance. It is also a city full of students and young professionals.

Clubs and societies

The University has a club and society for almost everything.

The societies are a great opportunity to meet new people from different cultures around the world; I've joined the International Society, which organises trips and events. Most of the members are international students who love to meet and talk with other people.

Accommodation

At the moment, I live in the city centre of Newcastle. Newcastle is full of agents who make house-hunting much easier.

Career aspirations

I'm sponsored by a company, so I'll go back to my country to work for them when I finish my studies.

My studies at Newcastle University are preparing me by solving real engineering problems whilst studying. The assignments are a fun way to explore more about the course and be creative your own way.
