Call for NE Broadcasting Corporation

Professor of Social Geography, Alastair Bonnett says 'North East Broadcasting Corporation' can give the region its own voice by using 40% of the BBC's licence fee to pay for regional public broadcasters

The creation of an independent ‘North East Broadcasting Corporation’ would help the region “find its own voice” and be “a considerable asset” says Prof Bonnett, who believes a regional broadcaster can work alongside the national BBC and would nourish the region’s bustling cultural and political scene.
