CURDS, GURU and RGS-IBG host decentralisation debate

CURDS, GURU and the Royal Geographical Society-Institute of British Geographers hosted a debate on ‘Decentralisation: what’s in it for the north?’ at the Great North Museum on 3 December 2015. Chaired by Peter Hetherington (The Guardian), the panel included Andrew Lewis (Newcastle City Council), Chi Onwurah (MP for Newcastle Upon Tyne Central), Andy Pike (CURDS, Newcastle University) and Paul Salveson (Hannah Mitchell Foundation).

A blog post based on the debate can be found on the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) website and Prof Pike's critique of the government's decentralisation method was covered by the Local Government Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1P7tFly - subscription url)
