Newcastle University students risk yellow warning to complete Chile volcano expedition

Mounting an expedition to Chile in the South American winter, three Newcastle University students were anxious to avoid a warm welcome from their volcano destination.

Geography students Alex McKee, Diana Luke and Rebecca Leitch had raised £5,000 to travel 7,000 miles from Newcastle to Chile to study the Calbuco volcano.
