The Newcastle University Gender and Politics Research Group boasts a diversity of research expertise in the area of gender and politics.

Utilising a range of theoretical and methodological approaches, we have particular strengths in comparative politics, international politics, and political theory, producing world-leading research in sub-areas such as:

Members of the research group edit the academic journals Contemporary Political Theoryand Representation, and co-convene the British International Studies Association (BISA) Gendering International Relations Working Group and the UACES Gendering EU Studies research network.

The research group is convened by Maarja Luhiste and Jemima Repo.
