Background

Over the last 10 years I have completed my Bachelors( History and Politics), Masters (Critical Geopolitics) and PhD here at Newcastle University. Before that I completed most of my schooling in Thailand at 2 international schools.

Research

I completed my ESRC funded PhD on US Foreign Policy and China in August 2017. It was entitled "Identity, Capital, Geopolitics: US Presidential Discourses of China from 1844 to 2016". 

My research interests include US foreign policy, US politics, the political economy of US foreign policy, US-China relations, foreign policy analysis, geopolitics, IR theory and the relationship between popular culture and world politics specifically how speculative fiction addresses climate change.

I am Module Leader on 3 UG modules this year.

POL1046: Order and Disorder: The Shaping of the 21st Century 

POL2078: Critical International Politics

POL3104: The Fall and Rise of China

I have previously taught on these modules and last year I taught at UG and MA level at Durham University.
