Study Abroad

Study Abroad

At Newcastle you can study abroad as part of your degree. There are opportunities within Europe and further afield.

The Erasmus+ programme offers you the opportunity to study abroad in another European country for one semester. Our students can also study abroad with our non-European partners.

Each year we are able to place students from Geography, Politics and Sociology at one of our partner institutions. In recent years our students have spend a semester in:

  • the Netherlands
  • Denmark
  • Germany
  • France
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Singapore
  • Hong Kong
  • the USA

Benefits of taking part

Studying abroad is a fun and challenging experience that will benefit you during your studies and beyond. You will:

  • spend time immersed in another culture
  • improve your language skills
  • get a different perspective on your degree
  • get new perspectives on an academic subject
  • develop transferable employment skills

There will also be options for you to travel beyond the region of your host university.

The credits you earn during your time abroad are transferable to your degree at Newcastle.
