Newcastle University Family Histories Forum 2022

Join us for a series of presentations and talks. This third edition of the NUFHF brings together NU academics, archivists, genealogists, family historians and local history groups to share and discuss their interests and activities as they pertain to the broad theme of ‘Family Histories’.

Our guest speaker for this event is Sinead Morrissey, Professor of Creative Writing at Newcastle University who is working on her own 'family history' project.

Other speakers include:

  • Linda Bankier (Northumberland Archives)
  • Roger Morris (Philanthropy in the North Pennines)
  • Christine Seal (the Lobley family of Hexham)
  • Greg Finch (the Dukesfield Documents)
  • David Johnson (The nineteenth century home and the history of emotions)
  • Craig Thomas (The Buccleuch estates)
  • Chris Fowler (Neolithic family burials)

There is the option to attend in person at a venue on Newcastle University Campus, with covid-management procedures in place. Alternatively you can follow the speakers remotely, through virtual-conferencing software.
