Dr Joan Allen appointed as Research Director of the Centre of Nineteenth Century Studies

Dr Joan Allen has recently been appointed Research Director of the Centre of Nineteenth Century Studies. CNCS was founded in 2013 to foster and promote interdisciplinary research across the long nineteenth century. It brings together colleagues from all five universities in the North East of England and has links with other similar centres in Europe and Australia. Fellow Newcastle University historians, Dr Bruce Baker and Dr Annie Tindley, serve on the CNCS Advisory Board.

CNCS also has a dedicated forum for Postgraduate Research students who meet every two weeks to explore cross disciplinary initiatives and provides practical support. Find out detailed information about the 2016/17 lecture and conference programme.
