Celebrating Success in EDI

Staff and student achievements in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI)

We are always looking for ways to celebrate EDI achievements and to recognise those who help us to achieve our goals.

Professor Judith Rankin, Dean of EDI, announced the winners of our 2022/23 EDI award, as part of the Celebrating Success event. Recipients of the award are helping to make a difference to this agenda:

Outstanding EDI Project

Professor Karen Sands-O'Connor, School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics.

This project, Listen to this Story, celebrates those who have helped Black British children see themselves in exhibitions seen by thousands.

EDI Champion – Colleague Award

Dr Yukiko Kikuchi, Biosciences Institute

This was awarded for tremendous work in promoting inclusivity by encouraging openness and educating herself and others about EDI challenges.

EDI Champion – Student Award

Victoria Walker, Psychology

Awarded for her efforts to establish a development and support network for aspiring and trainee clinical psychologists who have disabilities, neurodiversity or physical/mental health conditions.
