Boot Camp 2016

Boot Camp 2016

Boot camp 2016 brought together the Centre academic partners from Newcastle, Durham, Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt and Sussex Universities.

A wide spectrum of research work was presented to help bridge the scientific and technical diversity in our collective knowledge. The day also acted as a platform to frame and agree the initial focus of the project and to ensure that our activities are both relevant and timely.

Presentations were given on the following topics:

  1. Introduction to the highRES model - a temporally and spatially detailed energy model (PDF: 1.9MB)
Dr James Price, UCL Energy Institute
  2. Statistics and uncertainty (PDF: 3MB)
Professor Michael Goldstein, Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Durham University
  3. Policy landscape (PDF: 538KB)
Professor Gordon MacKerron, Professor of Science and Technology Policy, University of Sussex
  4. Big Data (PDF: 3.1MB)
Professor Paul Watson, Professor of Computing Science, Newcastle University
  5. Multi-agent modelling (PDF: 2.2MB)
