Executive Board Principles

Executive Board is the senior leadership committee in the University reporting to Council and Senate. Its members are responsible for all aspects of the University’s work. Its members will:

  • Demonstrate their commitment to the values articulated in the University’s Vision and Strategy.
  • Seek to lead and manage the work of the University as a single whole, not a collection of separate parts.
  • Exhibit collective ownership of all decisions made within Executive Board.
  • Be accountable for their designated areas of responsibility.
  • Encourage honest discussion and be receptive to respectful constructive challenge.
  • Behave with integrity and communicate visibly and openly with the wider University community.

In keeping with the University's commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Social and Environmental Justice, Executive Board approved the adoption of a Race Equality Pledge as its contribution to the Newcastle University Students' Union Decolonising NCL campaign
