Health Protection Research Unit for Chemical & Radiation Threats & Hazards

Staff Profile

Professor Stephen Rushton

Prof of Biological Modelling

I am interested in the development and application of modelling techniques in biological, environmental and medical systems.

My key focii of research are:

• the epidemiology of  food-borne pathogens

• the epidemiology of nosocomial and community acquired infections

• the epidemiology of wildlife and livestock disease

• modelling microbial community dynamics in complex environments

• modelling human exposure to environmental contaminants

• discrete event modelling of human disease and health interventions

• spatial dynamics of wildlife populations and disease

• modelling health outcomes
