The advert on the job vacancies webpages will include the job description, person specification and any links to the Unit, so these details do not need to be repeated.
All posts must be placed for one week on the redeployment site, and then advertised openly for at least a week on the University's internal and external web sites.
Where a similar advertisement in the previous six months has generated a pool of high quality appointable candidates, you can discuss with your HR team if the post needs to be advertised internally/externally again. Posts will be placed on redeployment for at least one week regardless.
Posts at grade F and above will automatically be advertised on www.jobs.ac.uk unless otherwise requested.
Where posts are to be advertised in the external press, HR will need all completed documentation up to two weeks beforehand in order to meet external deadlines.
Positions which may attract applicants for whom the University might wish to obtain a Certificate of Sponsorship must now be advertised for a minimum of 28 days. Where it is possible that such applicants may be attracted, Recruiting Manager’s should liaise with HR before beginning the recruitment process.
Recruiting Managers are expected to follow the University's recruitment process, part of which is to advertise vacancies internally and externally. There may be circumstances when advertising externally is not appropriate. In any such cases please discuss this with your local HR team.
