Background

I am a Research Technician working in the Osteoarthritis Genetics Research Group, within the Skeletal Research Group, based at the Institute of Genetic Medicine. My research focuses on osteoarthritis susceptibility loci, identified through genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and their functional effect on methylation levels and proximal gene expression. In addition, I am utilising the CRISPR system, for genome and epigenome editing, in mammalian cell lines to target OA associated polymorphisms and characterise their role.

Research

Functional analysis of Osteoarthritis associated loci.

Identification of expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) and methylation quantitative trait loci (mQTLs).

CRISPR-Cas9 system for genome editing.

CRISPR-dCas9 system for epigenome editing.

Production of stable cell lines using lentiviral transduction
