Background

Background

I am currently working on the Global Health Dementia Prevention and Enhanced Care Project (DePEC) (Workstream 3: DePEC Nutrition RCT) led by Professor Dame Louise Robinson.

My PhD research at Queen's University Belfast was focused on the development and pilot testing of a Mediterranean Lifestyle Education Intervention (THINK-MED) to encourage behaviour change among older adults at risk of cognitive decline. This research included a systematic review of dietary interventions in Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), a longitudinal analysis of the association of adherence to a Mediterranean diet and cognitive performance among older adults from the PRIME study in Northern Ireland as well as the design, development and implementation of a pilot randomised controlled trial among people with a clinical diagnosis of MCI and those with subjective cognitive impairment (SCI) within a community setting.
