Dr Nicolette Rousseau

Senior Research Methodologist



I am an experienced health services researcher, with a particular interest in the application of mixed methods in health technology assessment. My published work includes systematic reviews, qualitative interview studies, cross sectional and longitudinal surveys and randomised controlled trials. 

Current research includes several collaborative projects with the ENT team at Newcastle Universities Hospital Trust: TUBE (; NATTINA ( and LiTEFORM ( I also lead a qualitative work package on a successful NIHR i4i study.

I also provide advice for NIHR RDS NENC, The NIHR RDS works with health professionals and academic staff wishing to apply for NIHR or other peer reviewed funding for health and social care research.  I advise on study design and methods, possible funding sources and link applicants to other specialist support provided by the RDS (including statistics, health economics, clinical trials).
