A range of support is available for listening and speaking in semester two.
Interactive Lectures
A number of interactive lecturers are available in semester two. These help to introduce strategies to help you with your listening and speaking while studying. Lectures include:
- Dealing with unknown vocabulary when listening (INU7114)
- Improving the accuracy and fluency of your spoken English (INU7134)
- Dealing with the difference between how words are written and how they are spoken (INU7154)
- Dealing with unknown vocabulary (part two), focussing on what you do understand (INU7174)
- Dealing with lectures and presentations (INU7194)
- Improving your pronunciation (INU7214)
Practice Sessions
These sessions provide you with the opportunity to practise the skills and strategies introduced during the Interactive Lectures. Attendance at the Interactive Lectures is recommended but not compulsory.

Presentation Skills (Input) Sessions
Aim to provide information on the features of an effective academic presentation. These lecture-style sessions do not require you to give a presentation.
