HR Administrator

Background

As HR Administrator for the Institute of Neuroscience, my duties include:

  • Working with the Deputy Institute Manager in designing and implementing policies to support the institute’s HR administration in accordance with the central HR policies and procedures.
  • Responsibility for administration and co-ordination of recruitment processes for all staff across the Institute.
  • Co-ordinating the process of renewal and dismissal of contracts of employment within the Institute. 
  • Administering the induction procedure for all new staff to the Institute.
  • Administering requests for Guest and Visiting staff, both clinical and non-clinical.
  • Administering requests for Honorary contracts and Research Passports for staff within the Institute.
  • Co-ordination of leave and absence records.
  • Advising staff on best practice in HR processes, for example, recruitment, redundancy, redeployment and contractual issues. 
  • Liaising with Central HR on related operational issues on behalf of the Institute.
  • Keeping up to date with all University HR policies and regulations to ensure compliance and dissemination of changes to staff as required.
  • Contributing to the general administration of the Institute.
