IT Services Update - 4 November 2020

As you will be aware, we have been investigating following a cyber-incident in August and this has revealed that some personal data has recently been made publicly available (on an Internet site that cannot be found by a search engine).

An email update has been sent to students and staff concerning this and we have also updated our FAQs.

Please be assured that the University uses industry-standard tools and processes to record and protect account information, including passwords. Newcastle University takes the security of our systems extremely seriously and this remains the subject of a Law Enforcement investigation. Our team in NUIT is working with these agencies to address the issue.
