The Linux Software Mirror (FTP Mirror) service provides a local repository of popular Linux distributions and update packages.

You can access the service via HTTP (http://ftpmirror.ncl.ac.uk) and FTP (ftp://ftpmirror.ncl.ac.uk) - both from on campus, only.

The mirrors are refreshed on a nightly basis. We will consider all requests to mirror other software distributions, please contact the IT Service Desk with your request via https://nuservice.ncl.ac.uk

Yum Repository Configurations

Configurations are available on the mirror; replace the default .repo files in your /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory with these customised versions to get packages and updates from the server. For older versions of yum with no /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory, just append the contents of each file to /etc/yum.conf as required
