Title: Culture, Communities and Sustainability Entrepreneurship

Session overview

Ewald Kibler’s interactive research seminar will introduce a cultural structure-agency view on place-based sustainability entrepreneurship. Building on his previous research, Ewald will present nine propositions for addressing and discussing two interrelated questions:

  1. How national and regional cultural norms and political institutions shape the emergence of pro-social and sustainability-orientated enterprises (structure)?
  2. How entrepreneurial actors manage cultural norms and institutional arrangements to create sustainable impact and foster community development (agency)?
