Education Strategic Fund

The Education Strategic Fund is designed to enable and support major adaptations to Newcastle University's educational provision.

About the fund

The Education Strategic Fund is designed to enable and support major adaptations to Newcastle University's educational provision. It will fund critical projects that can demonstrate long-lasting impact on education across the institution and branch campuses, enabling the University to remain competitive and resilient to medium- and long-term challenges.

Award criteria

The fund can award up to £250,000 per year to projects that will have major strategic impact. The fund is expected to make awards of between £10,000 and £50,000, and fund 4-6 major projects per year.

Applications made to the fund must make it clear how the project will support the University in making a step change in its education provision. The adaptations we will need to consider in the future are, for example: online provision; blended provision; apprenticeships for the UK market; more alignment to our research strengths; alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals; more international articulation; new transnational education opportunities, and opportunities for our international campuses.
