London in the summer

London is such a vibrant city with so much to do – especially in summer!

Hyde park is my favourite park in London and over Summer it really is something very special. You can go boating on the Serpentine on either a rowing boat or pedal boat. There is also the opportunity to swim in a sectioned off part of the water if you’re feeling brave! Next to the Serpentine is the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain which is truly beautiful and a definite must see.

Movie on the river

CityCruises is offering movies on the top deck of a boat on the river Thames from 13th June – 15th September. Prices start at £29 and they are showing a great range of movies.

The street entertainers on Southbank are something to not miss over the Summer. There is a wide range of different acts, from dancers, to castles made from the sand, to magicians! There is also a vintage book market where you ca browse for ages.

London really does offer an incredibly diverse range of markets, my favourite two being Camden Market and Borough Market.

Camden Market

Camden has incredible alternative food and clothes stalls. It also has a really relaxed feel due to the Locke and canal boats.

Borough Market

It is one of the oldest and biggest markets in London and is located in Southwark. It is a food and drink market but I would recommend their cheeses to everyone.

Brick Lane

Brick lane is home to the 24hr bagel shop and some insanely clever graffiti art. There is a hipster buzz surrounding the area and the ‘Cereal Killer Café’ is a very cool spot. There is an abundance of coffee shops so take a seat outside one of them and people watch.

Sky Garden

This is an incredible bar with views of London and is completely free to visit (but you need to book in advance!) It attracts everyone from businessmen, to families, tourists, to couples. I’ve even witnessed a marriage proposal there so it truly is a beautiful place. As it is such a tranquil space, you can also book to do yoga there.

London Eye

A bit of an obvious one but in summer the days are longer and the sun really does bring out the best in London. I think the London Eye is an absolute must do in London.
