Online exams

A range of tools are available to support online assessment and feedback. These pages have specific information about online tests and exams. Refer to the Effective Practice section for information about other online assessment and feedback tools.

Blackboard tests

You can use the test tool in Blackboard for formative assessments, and it is also used for Online Assessment and Feedback (OLAF) exams [link to the separate OLAF page]. Blackboard tests offer question types, the majority of which can be marked automatically. The most commonly used include:

  • Multiple Choice
  • Multiple Answer
  • Matching
  • Fill in the Blanks
  • Ordering

See Blackboard Help for a full list of question types with an explanation and instructions for creating each one.
