Research Fellow Dr. Victor Pacheco-Peña wins URSI GASS Young Scientist Award

We are delighted to announce that Newcastle University Research Fellow Dr. Victor Pacheco-Peña has won the 2020 URSI GASS Young Scientist Award.

Dr. Pacheco-Peña's winning abstract, Plasmonic nanoantennas and nanocavities: a transformation electromagnetics perspective (Victor Pacheco-Peña, Rúben A. Alves (University of Birmingham) and Miguel Navarro-Cia (University of Birmingham), was submitted along with his CV and full list of publications. 

The International Union of Radio Science (Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale), is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation under the International Council for Science, responsible for stimulating and co-ordinating, studies, research, scientific exchange, and communication in the fields of radio science.

Due to Covid-19, the awards ceremony has been postponed until September 2021, with the ceremony still taking place in Rome. Further information on URSI and its Young Scientist Award can be found on the URSI 2020 website
