There and back again: From matrix weights to commutators via the Schur complement

Date/Time: Monday 30 November, 3.00pm - Analysis Seminar

Venue: Zoom

Abstract: Harmonic Analysis on matrix-weighted spaces has been studied since Treil and Volberg’s seminal paper in 1997. From its inception, the area has used very different tools to the scalar theory, linking it more firmly with operator theory on Hilbert spaces.

In the talk, I will present how the well-known Schur complement from Linear Algebra can be used as an induction step over matrix dimensions, linking matrix weights with the study of Hankel operators (or more generally, commutators), and to the two-weighted setting.
