Hannah Kreczak

EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowship

Background

Dr Hannah Kreczak is a Research Associate at the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at Newcastle University. She is a recipient of the EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowship studying the dynamics of particles with varying density in complex flows. The aim of the research is to increase understanding on the vertical distributions of microplastics in the ocean which have been biofouled.

Hannah completed her PhD as part of the Centre of Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics at the University of Leeds 2019, studying rates of mixing by three mechanisms: stretching and folding, cutting and shuffling, and diffusion.
