Background
I have joined Population Heath Science Institute in June 2019. I have recently finished my training fellowship which involved doing a part time Masters in public health and health research services, and working part time for Population Health Sciences Institute. Currently I am working for NIHR Innovation Observatory and Evidence Synthesis Group as a Research Assistant. I have also started a part-time PhD focused on the synthesis of Real World Evidence.
Research
I am currently working on NIHR briefing notes. I am also performing horizon scanning in Diagnostics, Devices and Digital (DDD) program.
I have also been involved in projects such as:
- My dissertation project which aimed to systematically assess the effectiveness of community-based interventions aimed at improving mental health of people from low socioeconomic status backgrounds
- NIHR Innovation Observatory project 'Access to Medical Treatments'. The purpose of the project was to look into innovative treatments from various sources and create a digital tool to identify innovative uses of medicines in clinical trials globally
- Radiofrequency ablation project on the effectiveness and safety of endoscopic bipolar radiofrequency interventions for the treatment of biliary obstruction
- Cochrane review update on anticholinergic drugs which aimed to assess the effects of using anticholinergic drugs (compared with placebo) for treating overactive bladder in adults
- NIHR funded project on organ donation in people from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds.
Teaching
I am involved in teaching "Introduction to systematic reviewing and critical appraisal" module.
