Dr Demetris Avraam
Research Associate
Background
Demetris Avraam is a Research Associate at the Data to Knowledge Research Group of the Institute of Health and Society. Demetris is a mathematician with strong interest in data sciences for health. His research focuses on the development of statistical methodologies and technologies for the protection of sensitive data and techniques for privacy preserving data analytics and visualisations. He is also a core developer of DataSHIELD, a software infrastructure which enables privacy-preserving analysis of individual-data warehoused in a centralised repository or secure federated analysis of data from multiple data sources without physically pooling, sharing or disclosing the data.
