A sociologist by academic discipline and a nurse by clinical specialism, I am currently engaged on the DACHA (Developing Resources and Minimum Data Set for Care Homes' Adoption) project. http://dachastudy.com/
I spent 30 years teaching in different universities, new and old, before taking early retirement to work in care homes during the Covid pandemic. I now hope to put that experience to good effect by returning to the shop-floor of research.
Academic Qualifications:
PhD: The Political Abuse of Psychiatry in the USSR, Glasgow University
MPhil: Socialist Theory and Movements, Glasgow University
BSc (Hons) Sociology and Political Economy, City, University of London
Professional Training:
Registered General Nurse
Registered Mental Health Nurse
Certificate in Education (further education)
I am currently engaged in recruiting care homes to take part in the DACHA study.
