My qualifications have put me in the rare position of having in-depth training in both qualitative (PhD) and quantitative (MSc Epidemiology) methods that I have applied in a range of applied health research projects.  Having won a prestigious MRC post-doc Special Training Fellow award I experienced high quality training as part of the MRC’s vision for the development of outstanding researchers for multi-disciplinary collaborative working.  I have utilised this and demonstrated a long-standing ability to carry out internationally outstanding applied health research.

I have worked with many UK collaborators (University of Glasgow, UCL, Bristol, UWE, LSHTM, York and HYMS) on various topics including disability onset amongst older people, illness behaviour and the factors associated with utilisation of health services, health services delivery and the qualitative components of various pilot and full-scale trials.
